  • Ex-England captain Freddie Flintoff and menswear brand Jacamo have together raised raise more than £40,000 for Prostate Cancer UK in just over six months
  • Fundraising activity includes Ashes 2005 legends cricket game and charity t-shirt campaign

Sporting legend Freddie Flintoff and leading menswear retailer Jacamo, with whom Flintoff has been the brand ambassador for six years, have partnered up with Prostate Cancer UK raising more than £40,000 for the charity.

Since the start of 2017, Jacamo has raised the incredible sum by teaming up with brand ambassador Freddie Flintoff, enlisting his sporting friends, Robbie Savage and Shaun Goater to produce a limited-edition charity t-shirt, which has so far sold more than 2,000 units, with 100% of all profit going to the charity.

Flintoff also captained a star-studded, reunion cricket match held at Alderley Edge Cricket Club. Playing against the local team, Freddie bought together his ex-England team mates such as Steve Harmison, Simon and Geraint Jones… and special guest Piers Morgan to create the Twenty20 team.

The internal team at Jacamo has also helped to raise money by joining Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling on day seven of his March for Men challenge walking 26.7 miles with him, as part of his epic 400-mile journey from Exeter to Newcastle.

Freddie commented: “I can’t believe how much money we’ve managed to raise in such a small space of time, it really is amazing. We’ve been able to have a bit of fun along the way in helping to raise awareness, and it’s been great to rope my mates in where possible. We plan to continue to support Prostate Cancer UK so hopefully this is just the start.”

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, added: “A huge congratulations and thank you to Freddie and the team at Jacamo for raising an incredible amount of money, and awareness, throughout the last six months for Prostate Cancer UK. The t-shirts have been a great success and we were thrilled to see the Twenty20 team reuniting to raise money during the cricket match.

“It is with the support of such celebrities and corporate partners that we are able to fund research into the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, and support men and their families who are affected by the disease.

The partnership between Jacamo and Prostate Cancer UK has been such a success that there is an appetite to continue working together with the common goal of raising awareness of the disease throughout the UK. “
