Freddie Flintoff and Toby Huntington-whiteley Star in New Advert

01 May 2015

Freddie Flintoff and Toby Huntington have joined forces to star in the new Jacamo summer advert, launched today, Friday 1 May.

Filmed in Palma, Majorca, the advert sees sporting legend Freddie wear his Flintoff by Jacamo summer collection to take to the basketball court before hitting the beach in a jeep.

As the official face of Jacamo, Freddie said “Majorca is a brilliant island and we had a great time filming there. After four years of working with Jacamo I think that both the adverts and products continue to surprise people, in a good way. This particular collection shows how much variety men can have in their summer wardrobe. “The short sleeved denim shirt I wear in the jeep is my personal favourite.”

During a break from filming, Freddie also admitted that his summer wardrobe this year will mostly include cargo shorts, short sleeved summer shirts and, his all-time favourite cap.

He also revealed that while he’s comfortable pulling together casual and formal looks, smart casual is a look he wants to master… along with learning the rules of how to wear double denim.

And when it comes to trying different trends, he admitted that years of playing cricket has led him to ‘play safe’ when it comes to fashion in a bid to avoid getting stick from fellow players in the dressing room.

Joining Freddie is Toby Huntington-Whiteley in what is his second TV gig for the menswear retailer.

The 25-year-old model Toby continues to set pulses racing by modelling a pair of swimshorts as he lies peacefully in a roof top pool. He later takes to the traditional streets of Palma wearing a stylish tailored suit, white T shirt and sunglasses combination.

Jacamo spokesperson Cath Ryan said: “We’re keeping our fingers crossed that warmer weather is just around the corner… the fun nature of the advert mirrors how we want to make men feel when it comes to getting their summer clothes.”

Three other models take part in the advert, each representing a different shape and style. Rob Hallas can be seen strolling through a palm tree setting, Graham Scaife relaxes by the sea before jumping in, and Josh Margetts joins Freddie on the basketball court.

The campaign is a play on the word ‘Extra’, encouraging talk about men’s fashion in a new way and communicating the benefits of the brand by celebrating all body shapes from height and broadness to shoe size. Its aim is to move the focus away from plus size and firmly to fashion and inclusivity to reflect the breadth of product size available.

A combination of fashion, comfort and style to suit every taste is shown, including a Flintoff by Jacamo denim shirt (£30), Firetrap swimshorts (£25), a white and green palm tree print shirt (£20) and turned up denim shorts (£25).
