N Brown Group plc, the Manchester-based home shopping company, is pleased to confirm that further to the announcement on 11 April 2002, Alan White will be joining the company and taking up his position as Chief Executive on 2 September 2002.
Jim Martin, who has been Chief Executive of the company for the past 18 years, will concurrently take up the role of Deputy Chairman of the Group.
Alan was formerly Group Finance Director of N Brown, from 1985 to 1999, following which he became Group Finance Director of The Littlewoods Organisation Plc.
In accordance with Section 16.4 of the Listing Rules there are no disclosures to be made in accordance with the details required by paragraphs 6F2 (b) to (g).

Mr White joined Littlewoods in June 1999 as Group Finance Director, prior to which he worked as Group Finance Director for N Brown from 1985 to 1999. He has also recently been a non-executive director of JD Sports PLC (September 1996 to September 2001).
Before this he was General Manager of Finance at Sharp Electronics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sharp Corporation of Japan. He is a qualified chartered accountant and a law graduate from Warwick University.
Alan is 47 and is married with two children and lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
