The directors continue to recognise the importance of good corporate
governance, now formalised by the Combined Code which was published
in 2006. The statement which appears in the recent Annual
Report and Accounts explains how the group has applied the principles
of the Code during the financial year under review, and confirm
we complied with the provisions of the
Code throughout that financial year.

Subject to certain conditions, shareholders are entitled to discount of up to 20% on purchases from any of the group's catalogues.

The number of established customers (that is, those who were on our database twelve months ago and who have traded with us since) is over 2 million.

Do you fund customer credit yourself?
We offer credit account facilities to the majority of customers, subject to credit status.

We currently have approximately 1.6 million debtor accounts.

How many people do you employ?
At the end of the last financial year we employed over
3,000 people.

How exposed are you to currency fluctuations and interest rate
fluctuations?
Exposure to interest rate fluctuations or indebtedness is managed by using
a combination of fixed and floating rates for borrowings and the use of
derivatives such as interest rate swaps where appropriate.
Anticipated foreign exchange requirements may be hedged for up to three
years ahead. This hedging activity involves the use of spot, forward and
option contracts.

The company has historically pursued a policy of increasing dividends
in line with earnings growth.
